Currently studying Specialist Hair and Media Makeup at University College Birmingham

I have always enjoyed experimenting with makeup from an early age. I believe this all stemmed from my mother, watching her apply makeup everyday fascinated my curiosity. I became inspired by images I saw around me on the television and in magazines and began translating those images on to the human canvas.
After leaving school at sixteen I began an apprenticeship at a local hairdressing salon, gaining my NVQ level 2 in hairdressing. Whilst there I studied Cosmetic make up part time at South East Essex College. I recently completed my VTCT Level 3 diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Hair and Media Makeup at New College Nottingham. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there, learning everything from camouflage makeup to body art. The course was one of the best I have experienced and gave me a wide range of skills capable of launching me into the industry. I am currently in my second year of university studying BA specialist hair and media make up at University College Birmingham.
I am currently freelancing and have taking part in several photo shoots with Photo Nottingham and Deborah Selwood Photography as well as being a make up artist for the production of Hello Dolly at the Playhouse theater in Nottingham. Since being at university I have taken part in several sfx placements with the west midlands police and the rep theatre, where I did ageing make up whilst cutting and fitting the wigs for the actors.I have also had the experience working at the clothes show live and was very lucky to have worked with the BBC on the film Nativity 3 and working with Hasselblad at the photography show.
I am always looking to expand my portfolio and collaborate with other artists so if you are interested please don't hesitate to get in touch.
